1. About this notice
This Cookie Notice explains which cookies and similar technologies www.decksandbalcony.com uses, what they do and how you control them. The website is operated by American Building Development (CSLB License #1060736) under the Decks & Balcony brand. How we handle personal information in general is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. What these technologies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include browser storage (local and session storage), scripts and pixels that send information about your visit to a provider, and identifiers that recognize your browser on later visits. In this notice “cookies” covers all of them.
3. How we ask for permission
- Only necessary technologies run when you arrive. Analytics and advertising technologies stay off — they are not loaded, do not run and do not store identifiers — until you allow them.
- Rejecting is as easy as accepting. Scrolling, closing the notice or sending a form never counts as permission.
- You can request a quote, call us and use the whole site without allowing anything optional.
- Your choice is stored in this browser for 12 months. We ask again if we change our optional technologies; a sale/sharing opt-out always stays in place.
4. Categories
Strictly necessary — always active
Keep the site working and secure, deliver your form requests and remember your privacy choices. They cannot be switched off here; you can block them in your browser, but then we cannot remember your choices and parts of the site may not work.
Analytics — off until you allow it
Measures how the site is used, including device information and pages viewed, so we can improve it. When only Analytics is allowed, Google Analytics runs without Google signals and without ad personalization.
Advertising — off until you allow it
Measures which ads and pages lead to calls and quote requests and supports our advertising. It may share device and browsing data with advertising partners, which California law may treat as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (see section 7). Advertising stays off while Global Privacy Control or your opt-out applies.
5. Providers and technologies
Durations are the maximum lifetimes set by each technology. Information that a provider receives is also kept on the provider’s side under its own policies.

What the quote form sends with your request when Advertising is allowed: the campaign parameters (utm_*) and Google ad click identifier that brought you here, and the Observix visitor identifier. Without Advertising permission these fields are sent empty. The site is set up so that the details you type into a form (name, phone, e-mail, property location and project description) are not sent to analytics or advertising tools.
6. Your choices
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page — or the button below — to see your current choice, switch Analytics and Advertising on or off, or reject everything optional. Changes take effect when you save them; closing the window without saving changes nothing.
7. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising at any time. You do not need an account or to give us any information: the choice is stored in this browser and turns Advertising off here. It does not delete information already collected — to ask for deletion or for a copy of your information, follow the steps in our Privacy Policy.
8. Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser. While GPC is on, Advertising stays off and cannot be switched on here, and we record the opt-out for this browser. You can still choose whether to allow Analytics, which is a separate choice.
9. Withdrawing permission
When you switch a category off, we stop loading its technologies, stop new events from being sent, remove the cookies and browser storage we can access for that category, and reload the page so no optional code keeps running. Withdrawal affects what happens from then on. It does not delete information a provider already received; for that, see your rights in our Privacy Policy.
10. Map and other third-party content
- Google Maps (Contact page): the map is not loaded until you select Show map. Showing it sends your device and browsing data to Google, which may set its own cookies. The “Get driving directions” link works without the map.
- Google Fonts: font files are loaded from Google to display the site. Your IP address and browser details reach Google when they load; no cookies are set.
- Author images (Gravatar): on some blog pages author photos load from Gravatar (Automattic), which receives your IP address and browser details; no cookies are set.
11. Phone calls
Without Advertising permission the site shows our main number, (916) 848-2728. With Advertising permission, CallRail may show a tracking number instead, so that a call can be linked to the page or ad that led to it; CallRail then processes the caller’s number and the details of the call for us.
12. Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our technologies change and show the date of the latest version at the top. If we add optional technologies or purposes, we ask for your choice again before using them.
