Our commitment
Decks & Balcony (American Building Development) wants decksandbalcony.com to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.
What we do
- We build pages with semantic HTML and ARIA where appropriate so pages, forms and menus can be used with a keyboard and a screen reader.
- We work to keep text contrast at or above WCAG 2.1 Level AA minimums.
- We add text alternatives to informative images.
- We keep a visible focus indicator on links, buttons and form fields.
- Our cookie and privacy controls can be used with a keyboard and a screen reader: the first notice does not block the page, the settings window keeps focus inside it until you close it, switches announce their names and on/off states, and confirmations are announced without moving your focus.
- Requesting a quote, calling us and using the site do not depend on accepting optional cookies.
Known limitations
- The map on our Contact page is provided by Google Maps and is loaded only if you choose to show it. Google’s map may not fully meet our accessibility standards; the office address and a “Get driving directions” link are always available as text.
